Get Out Your Books!

I know you still have those cool binders full of Tom's Powerpoints. Open one up -- to any page -- and jump back into that room in mid-December where our heads were all whirling at top speed.

Wasn't the Summit the best Christmas present you got?

Sorry Halley, I deleted my posted comment. I am technology-challenged. Pushed the wrong button to check my posting.

I am still riding high from the Summit. I'm high with energy, optimism and fresh ideas. I've been a big Tom Peter's supporter/believer since the early 1990's, and I believe much of my success has been and continues to be the ideas and strategies we have implemented in our business that are inspired by TP and a few other mentors.

Tom asked a few blogs ago, how can we an keep the community and energy of the Summit going/growing. I think we can best do it by continuing to be the messengers and spreading the word. Since I first read Re-Imagine, I have given more than 20 of the books to friends and associates. I have given away 4 since the summit. Sharing the book and other TP recommended readings like "As the Future Catches You" helps reinforce the message.

And finally, we all need to walk the walk. I am hiring and empowering women in key positions in my company and paying them for those positions. We have also competely re-imagined our whole approach to marketing our company and products and services along a design- inspired program. Our continued and future success in our little, low-tech, high-design business will be the best testimony of Re-Imagining one's business and world and building a community of believers.
